First Day of Maternity Leave
Tomorrow is my first day of maternity leave. I figure I am getting pretty close and don't want anything to happen in the classroom. I am pretty sure my students would really panic. However, it was very sweet today. A few students brought in a gift for me or the baby. Others wrote a quick message in a note for me. My students wrote advise about having a baby. It is really funny how some kids really think. I had a student write, "Boys really eat a lot." Another wrote, "Babies control your life." It was really neat and funny to see their thoughts.

End of the school year
Like many other teachers around the country, I am trying to patiently wait for the end of the school year. It seems more difficult for me to stay focused in the classroom and to keep students on task. Not to mention that the students really don't want to be doing much work this late in the year. Students and teachers alike seem to be ready for the end.
Waiting and Waiting
For those of you who don't know, I am expecting our first child on May 28, 2010. However, in recent visits to the doctor's office, I was told to expect him any day. Well, I am still waiting for my son's arrival. I go back to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully will find out when he might be coming. Waiting for something like a baby is really tiring. You never know when it will be or what to expect.
